Since
1990, Ross has been creating works of art out of silver. His innovative
designs have won him several awards, including “best holloware”
(2002) and “best design” (2000), both from the Metal
Arts Guild. Ross served as President of the Metal Arts Guild, as
well as working on the show committee.
Classically
trained in Ireland, ross has proven that his skill and imagination
are limitless. He has produced a wide range of pieces, many original
designs as well as commissioned works by designers. he produced
seventeen prototype pieces for a manufacturing firm in Chicago.
Ross
shows a unique passion for his work. He is known for his technically
challenging and unique pieces. Apart from creating in his studio,
ross shares his knowledge by teaching at George Brown College, Georgian
College and the Ontario College of Art and Design.
Ross’
silver can be seen in museums, both in Canada and England and his
works have also been included in the books, “Teapots, Makers
and Collectors,” and “Contemporary Silver, Part II,
Recent Commissions.” Ross was featured by the Canadian Society
of Decorative Arts in their spring, 2008 publication, “Ornamentum.”
